1982 to 1986
Not only was Jeremy an outstanding sportsman, he was a whiz in the classroom.
In the sports arena he was one of a very few guys to play in the 1st XV for three years. He played 50 games for the 1st‘s which was a record at the time (and may still be!) He also played cricket for the 1st XI, was in the college swim team and also in the school squash team.
Jeremy gained SC, UE and Bursary and post school he attended Waikato University and
graduated with a Bachelor of Management
Studies. After Uni versity Jeremy qualified as
a Chartered Accountant. Over the years he has had several senior management roles in various organisations. He was a partner in a firm of Accountants in Tauranga from 2004 to 2008.
As a rugby enthusiast Jeremy found employment in the sport. He became CEO of the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union for four years from 2008 to 2011. Following that he has been an independent Change Manager for the New Zealand Rugby Union leading the recovery of Southland Rugby Union (2011) and the Otago Rugby Union (2012). The Otago recovery gained significant media attention early this year.
Jeremy is now back in Tauranga and is a Principal of WHK Chartered Accounting firm. He is a member of the Business Performance Team where he advises businesses on strategy, governance and recovery work for distressed firms.
Jeremy has travelled the world and was away for six years. He is a family man – married to Yvonne and they have three children.
